Memorize these secret Costco price codes that will clue you in to the best deals and help you save even more money at the warehouse store.

Costco-.00

Prices that end in 99¢: Full price items.

Prices that end in 97¢: These have been marked down from the regular priced items, which end in 99¢

Odd pricing, such as 79¢, 49¢, or 89¢: These indicate specially priced items that Costco got a deal from the manufacturer. These can be better deals than at other stores, but not usually better than the 97¢ markdown.

Asterisk* on the upper right side of the sign: The item won’t be reordered.

88¢ or .00 endings: Manager markdowns. Sometimes the company uses these to move a product very fast.

Also note the product codes at the top of the price tag (usually right near the item number in the top middle).

1 – Regular item. Will be restocked

2 – Discontinued item. Will not be restocked. These will sometimes be discounted after a period of time. See above.

7 – One time buy. Will not be restocked. These products are generally seasonal, or a try-out. Get them while you can.

9 – Sent back to manufacturer. Will not be restocked, and will likely be gone within the week as they are sent back to the vendors which they came from.
